First official Betty Boop diner opens in Tokyo

The diner features a 1950s America theme, capturing the image of the iconic Betty Boop character as well as a sales corner featuring souvenir products.

King Features and Food Business Consultant have teamed to open the first official Betty Boop diner in Japan’s Shimbashi region.

The restaurant was officially licensed by King Features in a deal brokered with Food Business consultant by King’s Japanese agent, Copyrights Asia.

The diner features a 1950s America theme, capturing the image of the iconic Betty Boop character as well as a sales corner featuring souvenir products.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with FBC, who has extensive experience in managing character-identified restaurants and cafes in Japan,” said Cathleen Titus, vice president of international licensing for King Features.

“They have done a terrific job of capturing Betty’s combination of glamour and sassiness to communicate genuine ‘50s vibes for the diner.”
