The first official trailer for the hotly anticipated Minions movie has been released.

The Despicable Me spin off feature sees three gibbering Minions called Kevin, Stuart and Bob set off in search of an evil mastermind to work for after they accidentally kill all of their previous bosses.

Throughout the ages, the Minions have had a hand in some of the most pivotal historical events including the extinction of the dinosaurs, the construction of the pyramids and the Napoleonic wars.

The film – featuring the voices of Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm and Steve Carell – now sees the trio of Minions embark on an American adventure, set 46 B.G. (Before Gru).

Minions is scheduled to hit cinemas in summer 2015.
