Alfred Franks & Bartlett has extended its existing Hello Kitty licence for sunglasses to include branded kitchen accessories.

A new category for the Hello Kitty licensing programme, AFB will be producing baking sets, aprons, placements and food moulds, plus an adults range including oven gloves, tea towels, picnic rugs, cleaning utensils, trays, canisters and salt and pepper sets.

AFB will also be developing a range of kitchen accessories using the Hello Kitty vintage style guide, featuring the character as she appeared in the 1970s.

This line will include ceramic products such as teapots, cup and saucer sets, milk jug and sugar bowls, egg cups, cake tins, tea towels and a tea cosy.

The collections will hit retail from autumn 2011.

"We have enjoyed tremendous success with our Hello Kitty sunglasses range and in line with our company strategy of investing in quality licensed products, we are delighted to be working on this exciting project," said Laurence Cowan, MD of AFB. "Hello Kitty has a wide and growing appeal, and we look forward to launching the Hello Kitty kitchen range."

Libby Grant, brand director at Fluid World, added: "The fact that partners are signing new deals in new categories is testament to the enduring appeal of the character and it underpins Hello Kitty's position as an evergreen brand."
