GIRLS MONTH: JLS licensing drive begins

Rights Management International is eyeing up a swathe of licensing opportunities for current boy band favourites, JLS.

Since finishing as runners up in The X Factor 2008 final, the foursome have notched up two number one singles and a number one album.

In terms of licensed product, Sugar magazine order 190,000 packs of stickers to accompany the album release, while a jewellery collection launched pre-Christmas with Argos. Buyers have since contacted RMI to express their interest in other lines.

Posters, calendars, a full range of t-shirts, sweatshirts, stickers, high-end watches, a fragrance, bed linen and nightwear will also hit the High Street this year.

Further licensing opportunities include bodycare, skincare, haircare, stationery, accessories, headwear, eyewear, interactive games, mobile phones, food and drink.

JLS' first headline tour began last month - selling out within hours - and an arena tour is planned for the autumn, giving the band a full 18 months of planned activity. A further set of arena dates are under discussion.
