Goochicoo puckers up

KISS HK to develop a line of wooden toys based on design-led property for babies and toddlers.

Baby and toddler brand GoochiCoo is putting the building blocks into place for its licensing programme - signing up KISS HK to develop a line of wooden toys.

The range will launch with tubs of wooden blocks, shape sorters, activity cubes and walker wagons. All will be illustrated with designs and slogans specially chosen for the range, but representative of the Goochicoo style: cartoon babies and toddlers with the brand's signature 'nappitude'.

The collection will be pre-viewed in Hong Kong this month, with first products due to hit the market in spring 2009. Following the initial launch with the most popular items in the KISS catalogue, the range will be extended further to more children's toys.

This is the first venture into licensed product for KISS (which stands for Keep It Simple).

"We were keen to associate our products with a brand concept that was not only original and striking but simple - a brand concept, in other words, that would appeal both to small children and their parents," said KISS HK MD Sheamus Maher. "The Goochicoo brand offered all that and something more: a dedicated design approach. In fact, a major strength of the Goochicoo proposition is the uniqueness of the artwork going into each product."

Rob Corney, MD of Bulldog Licensing (which licences Goochicoo in the UK), added: "We are delighted that KISS recognised in Goochicoo the combination of innovation, quality and humour that would work well with its own products."
