Hearst Magazines is extending its product licensing partnership with IMG to include Cosmopolitan in the US.

The licensing firm has represented Hearst Magazines brands including Cosmopolitan, Esquire and Harper’s Bazaar outside of the US since 2013.

Under its international deal, IMG has already secured and managed a raft of multiple licensing partnerships for Cosmopolitan across fashion and beauty categories in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Popular licences include the Cosmopolitan fragrance, which will be in stores throughout Europe and Australia this autumn as well as the group of Harper’s Bazaar cafes in the UAE.

The new extension deal will see IMG focus its efforts on the US market.

“IMG has brought in scalable, on-brand ideas and best-in-class partners, advancing our global brand development strategy,” said Gautam Ranji, senior vice president, licensing and business development, Hearst Magazines International.

“The company understands our brands and the relationship we have with consumers, and we’re excited to build our Cosmopolitan partnership in the US.”

Bruno Maglione, WME IMG executive vice president and president of licensing for IMG, added: “Hearst Magazines’ brands resonate with consumers around the world.

“Our partnership is a successful one: Hearst is open to new ideas and supportive of our efforts on all brand platforms.”
