Chorion has awarded Character World the licence to develop bedroom ranges based on the classic children's book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The textile company will now produce duvet covers, curtains, cushions, towels and poncho towels, fleece blankets and rugs.

"The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a classic and much loved property that's been a prominent children's story for generations and this looks set to continue," said Danny Schweiger, director at Character World (pictured). "We're excited to have been awarded the licence and I know our design team have been working overtime to create the best possible designs to complement the book imagery, whilst bringing in some special touches."

Bettina Koeckler, VP of licensing sales EMEA at Chorion, added: "We are delighted to be working with Character World on this range; the iconic imagery from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a perfect fit for home furnishings."

One of the best selling children's books of all time, The Very Hungry Caterpillar is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and has sold over 29 million copies since it was first published.
