IMG Licensing has secured a multi-year deal for Muhammad Ali Enterprises with Adidas combat sport licensee, Double D.
The firm is tying up with 'The Greatest' to launch a collection of technical apparel and boxing performance products. These will be co-branded Muhammad Ali by Adidas.
The line will be launched at global sports trade show, ISPO, in Munich in January 2014.
This will mark the first time that the Ali brand has partnered with Adidas on technical boxing equipment and sports apparel, having previously collaborated on a limited edition fashion collection.
Initially focusing on the US, European and Australasian markets, the range will be available to the public in the months following IPSO via boxing and specialist stores, Adidas own-brand stores and a dedicated website.
"We are proud to bring the iconic brands of Muhammad Ali and Adidas together under the specialist production capabilities of Double D," said Matthew Primark, VP of IMG Licensing.
In addition, IMG Licensing has also agreed deals with Unibox, an official boxing ring partner based in the UK which has created the first official Muhammad Ali boxing ring, plus Boxercise Ltd for an official Ali-branded boxing fitness training programme.
