Imperial War Museums is beginning to build up its licensing programme, signing up The Coaster Company.

The firm - which has already enjoyed success with its 'Keep Calm and Carry On' coaster - spotted the opportunity with IWM at October's Brand Licensing Europe.

It will now produce coasters and tablemats using IWM's iconic imagery. There will initially be 12 items.

"The 'Keep Calm' product range was a great success and we were looking for ways in which we could follow it up," explained Ken Beecroft, MD of The Coaster Company. "Brand Licensing Europe was a great opportunity to see the IWM's rich imagery from their collections and we began discussing working together."

Abigail Ratcliffe, acting head of publishing at IWM, added: "Our licensing programme has seen a significant increase this year with a doubling of licences and royalty income. Working with partners such as The Coaster Company will ensure that our growth continues."
