Metrostar has appointed Faber to publish a new official tie-in book for the political comedy series, The Thick of It.
The firm has UK and Commonwealth rights (excluding Canada) to The DoSAC Files, which will be published on November 4th.
Based on the premise that spin doctor Malcolm Tucker has left a controversial file centred on the fictitious DoSAC (Department of Social Affairs and Citizenship) on the train, the title has been written by The Thick of It writers Armando Iannucci, Jesse Armstrong, Tony Roche, Simon Blackwell and Ian Martin.
It will include personnel files, letters and emails, drafts from Tucker's diary and visuals from the shows.
"It's been such an exciting book to represent - especially in this most intriguing of political years," said Claire Potter, MD of Metrostar, which handled the deal. "The writing is top Tucker; an absolute must for all Thick of It fans."
Hannah Griffiths, editor and director at Faber, added: "A book starring Malcolm Tucker - how could we resist? If it's at all possible, Tucker is even more Machiavellian in the book than on television."
