Agency JELC and brand owner Over the Moon have appointed Portico Designs Ltd to publish and distribute My Cat Pip greeting cards in the UK.
The deal was struck following an extensive assessment of some of the biggest names in greeting cards distribution.
Portico Designs was appointed on the basis of its position in the UK market as publisher of greeting cards, wrap, stationery and calendars with a client base including High Street multiples, supermarkets, specialist chains and independents.
Portico also has an extensive portfolio of major brands.
The My Cat Pip brand first entered the licensing sector in 2009. It has licensees across a number of categories including publishing, gifts, magazines, plush, apparel, iPad skins, calendars, planners, stationery, aprons and mini tote bags.
Simon Harrison, managing director of Protico Designs, said: "My Cat Pip is an ideal brand to add to our portfolio: it is both highly original and firmly established in the greetings card and wrap sector with strong potential for further growth.
"We are delighted to have the opportunity to bring this popular and charming brand to our comprehensive customer base."
Joint managing director of JELC, Janet Woodward, said: "The appointment of Portico to publish and distribute My Cat Pip cards is a tribute both to the extraordinary reach of the Portico customer base across supermarkets, specialists and independents but also o the amazing demand for My Cat Pip product, which is driving card purchases in the UK and licensee take-up across the world."
My Cat Pip greeting cards will still be available via Moonpig.com and www.pipthecat.com.
