Licensed apparel specialist Blues Clothing has a new group managing director, with former MD of Blues Asia, George Christopoulos stepping up to take on the role.

Christopoulos has been with Blues since 1998, based in Hong Kong, and was part of the management buy out team from the founders in 2007.

He will now be based in the UK office, taking over from James Twist who has left the firm to explore new challenges.

"I would like to take the opportunity on behalf of the company to thank James for his significant contribution to Blues and wish him every success for the future," said Christopoulos. "Blues has entered a new era and I believe we have a great opportunity to take the company forward. It is my intention for Blues to continue to invest in both established and new properties, in order that we can continue to offer fantastic licensed apparel collections to our entire customer base."

Twist added: "I am sad to be going as my years at Blues have been very rewarding, but I'm also looking forward to exploring new challenges."

Blues Clothing

Blues Clothing already has a solid 30-year+ history in the licensed apparel sector, however a management buy out last year (backed by Penta Capital and Allied Irish Bank) means that it now has the extra clout to push even further into the market.
