A new style guide is leading the RSPCA's moves further into the licensing marketplace.

The society has been working with Lavish Productions on the guide and believes it will be the first stage of what will turn out to be the biggest licensing programme in RSPCA history.

The RSPCA is also working with licensing consultancy JELC, which is already looking at deals in areas including apparel, giftware, housewares, stationery, publishing and pet care products.

The company already works with CP Designs Asia, Rayware, Vivid Imaginations, UK Greetings and the Noel Tatt Group.

"The RSPCA brand has enormous market potential and the society wants to ensure that its image and ethics are accurately reflected in products that bear its name," said trading manager Cathy Snow. "This comprehensive style guide will help enormously in our aim of bringing the brand to a greater number of product categories and boosting funds that allow us to continue helping animals in England and Wales."
