The products will include orchids, lily arrangements, roses and a range of other flowers and plants and will be available from spring/summer next year. The deal with Floralsilk covers the world market (excluding Japan).
In addition to the new deal, licensing agent Performance Brands is also looking to extend the Kew brand across garden accessories, furniture, food and drink and home-ware.
Nicola Gilson, The Kew Gardens brand manager at Performance Brands commented: “We are delighted to have signed this new deal, particularly as replica floral product is very much a niche industry.
“I’m sure that the Kew brand will help drive sales as it has such a weight of positive feeling towards it and is one of the most respected institutions in the UK, if not the world.”
Stephanie O’Flaherty from Floralsilk commented: “We are thrilled about the partnership with Kew Gardens. The introduction of a recognised brand into our industry is already exciting our customers.
” The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is one of England’s most popular tourist attractions with over one and a half million visitors a year and is considered as one of the finest show piece gardens in the world.
Floralsilk offers a range of replica flowers, trees, plants and floral arrangements. Its products have been displayed at venues such as the O2 Arena, the British Museum, the Royal Academy and Billingsgate market.
