Performance Brands has added to its portfolio, revealing it will be representing the licensing rights of the Build-A-Bear Workshop.
The Build-A-Bear Workshop offers children the chance to build themselves a custom-made stuffed animal. There are over 30 to choose from, along with a variety of outfits and accessories.
There are over 50 stores in the UK and more in mainland Europe. Turnover last year was close to $485 million.
Performance Brands has already expanded its kid's brand portfolio by signing new properties including Planet Cook and Numberjacks. The Build-A-Bear brand follows its policy of only working with kid's brands which encourage learning and social interaction in children.
"We are looking for licences in other markets with brands whose values align with those of the Build-A-Bear concept and have the same target audience," said David Ball, joint MD of Performance Brands. "We are looking forward to working with the Build-A-Bear Workshop. It's a truly amazing concept that encourages creativity and imagination in children."
