PGS Entertainment is introducing a new, young adult animated series to the international market at MIPTV this year, in the form of The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk.

Produced by Nomad Films, with Canal+ as commissioning broadcaster, The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk is a fantasy parody based on successful publishing franchise called Le Donjon de Naheulbeuk.

PGS is representing the series around the world.

The show follows a series of characters who enter the Dungeon in order to retrieve the 12th statuette of Gladeulfeurha, which will allow for the completion of a mysterious prophecy.

In addition to Canal+ providing commissioning support, a campaign for the show raised more than $300,000 in just 15 days through crowdfunding.

“This ambitious project and growing franchise breaks the mold for young adult comedy,” said Thomas Kornfeld, producer.

“We are delivering a show that people are demanding. Now, we are seeing how much broadcasters and fans are committing to it, which makes this project very unique.”

Philippe Soutter, president at PGS Entertainment, added: “At PGS, we are always on the lookout for unique and exciting intellectual properties and Dungeon is definitely one of them.

"A funny, young adult comedy like this is a rare find - especially one with a built-in fanbase. Featuring great characters in the much-loved fantasy world genre, we think this cult hit will soon be a popular sensation around the world.”

Currently in production, The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk will land on screens by the end of 2015.
