Plus Licens has named Egmont as its Nordic Licensee of the Year following its work with the Sanrio brand, Hello Kitty.
The accolade was awarded at a Sanrio brand presentation and licensee meeting in Stockholm.
Egmont's Hello Kitty programme includes publishing and stationery, plus toys, games, puzzles and domestics. The magazines first launched in Sweden in autumn 2008 and are now available in all Nordic countries, as well as major parts of Central and Eastern Europe.
The publishing programme includes storybooks, board books and activity books.
"Egmont have created a licensing programme stretching over a wide age group, from babies to young adults, and a great variety of products," said Eva Karlsson from Plus Licens. "Initially targeting the Nordic countries, the products have expanded into licensing programmes in other parts of Europe. The licensee has created their licensing programme showing creativity and ingenuity, exploiting available artwork to the fullest."
