A line of Family Guy branded Augmented Reality (AR) T-shirts are set to hit stores.
Clothing specialist Poetic Gem and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products have partnered to produce the range, which is based on the popular comedy cartoon TV show.
AR T-shirts 'come alive' when viewed through a smartphone or tablet, when using a free mobile app. When the product is scanned in via its label, the app enables the digital device to ‘read’ the image on the T-shirt, so the artwork appears to leap from the consumer’s chest and move about.
The new line uses Family Guy's most popular characters including Peter, Stewie and Brian. Consumers can also be take a photo of the AR image and share it online via Facebook and Twitter.
"Augmented Reality literally lets us make an image move and dance around on a piece of clothing – it is an incredible leap forward that adds an extra dimension to apparel," explained Elliott Matthews, Director, Poetic Gem.

The Family Guy line follows Poetic Gem’s successful launch of AR T-shirts for the popular app game Fruit Ninja.
