Two new agents have obtained the licensing rights for Coolabi’s Poppy Cat IP – one for France and one for Korea.
Planeta Junior will look after the pre-school property in France, while Asiana Licensing has picked up the rights for Korea. The TV series is also launching in both territories.
Natasha Dyson, head of licensing at Coolabi, said: “Planeta Junior and Asiana Licensing have great track records in creating innovative licensing programs and we have every confidence that they will secure some fantastic partners for Poppy Cat. The appointment of these agents highlights the growing global appeal of the brand.”
Helene Lancelin, licensing manager at Planeta Junior France, added: “Further to Poppy Cat’s success in the UK, we are pleased to be representing Poppy Cat merchandising rights in France, and we are confident of the big potential of the property in our territory.”
Asiana Licensing MD Yang Soo Kim commented: “We are delighted to be representing Poppy Cat in Korea and are excited to be taking this charming show into licensing.”
Poppy Cat is a top-five show on Nick Jr UK and a top-rated show in the US on Sprout. It launched in May on ITV1 and CITV in the UK. The book series has sold over 2.5m copies worldwide.
