Rocket sinks its teeth into True Blood

Firm to roll out licensing drive for hit HBO series in the UK and Ireland.

With the UK premiere taking place tonight on FX, Rocket Licensing has revealed it is working on a licensing programme for hit HBO vampire series, True Blood.

Rocket - which already has a strong relationship with HBO, having worked on a number of its properties - will be targeting a number of key categories including apparel, accessories, paper and stationery, homewares, gift, collectibles and PC accessories.

True Blood has been a major hit in the US, both on television and in terms of merchandise, with a wide range of product already available and more launches planned.

"True Blood has all the qualities - flair, fantasy and sex appeal - that we associate with the vampire genre, but it adds the trademark HBO intelligence, originality and style," said Rob Wijeratna, joint MD of Rocket Licensing. "It's an irresistible combination with massive appeal among a wide demographic, making it a significant licensing opportunity."
