Roobarb and Custard teams with Mogzilla

Publisher to produce range of illustrated books based on classic property.

The brand owner of Roobarb and Custard, A&Btv, has brokered a deal with publisher Mogzilla for a range of illustrated books featuring the duo.

Mogzilla will release three fully-illustrated titles this month - When there was a Pottery Party, When Custard was Grounded and When Custard found the Hieroglyphics. Each 32-page story is based on one of the programme scripts.

The deal adds to the growing licensing programme for the brand, handled by Bulldog. Apparel from Poetic Gem, greetings cards from Museums and Galleries, amusement plush from PMS and canvas wall art from Riviera are already available.

"The brand is already doing very well due to its huge retro appeal," said Bulldog's Rob Corney. "This new deal sees the licensing programme expanding to take in young fans who are discovering Roobarb and Custard for the first time, as well as appealing to the nostalgia in all of us."
