Saban Brand's Paul Frank goes back to school in Spain with Safta

The Spanish licensing agent Nottingham Forest has secured a new back to school licensing agreement for the popular Saban Brands IP, Paul Frank.

The deal has been struck with Safta, a leading company in the Back to School product arena in Spain. Safta will now develop Paul Frank collections for both children and tweens.

The first products are scheduled to hit shelves this summer. It’s the first agreement that Nottingham Forest has struck for the Paul Frank brand in Iberia and has been highlighted as the ‘prelude to many others that are to come.’

Acquired by Saban Brands in 2010, Paul Frank Industries was born in 1995 out of Paul Frank’s garage in a Southern California beach town. It quickly built a cult following.

Safta’s export marketing, design and licensing director, Elvira Forment, concluded: “We are currently going through a period in which there is a huge massification of children licenses so licensees can hardly compete.

“In the search of new properties to differentiate ourselves from our competition, the opportunity of developing Paul Frank Brand arose. I am confident with PF because it is a lifestyle brand, very iconic, full of colours and characters, focused on a wide target audience so we have more possibilities to expand our range of products.”
