Sears promo boosts Strawberry Shortcake in Mexico

AGP brand given a lift, with almost 10,000 free bracelets being distributed.

American Greetings Properties has seen its Strawberry Shortcake - or Rosita Fresita - property receive a boost in Mexico, following a special holiday promotion running at Sears stores.

Put together with Cookie Jar Entertainment and licensing agent Exim Mexico, the promotion saw customers receive an exclusive 'Rosita Fresita' scented bracelet with the purchase of selected items from Hasbro, Union Kids, Alta Tecnologia en Mochilas, Grupo Bestway, PIC and Tycoon.

Nearly 10,000 bracelets were distributed at five different Sears stores.

In addition, the character also took part in several meet and greets, while there was also a QR code promotion which led consumers to a promotional website with branded games and activities.

Fans could also enter to win one of five Rosita Fresita prize packages by writing her a letter.

"The success of this promotion is truly a demonstration of little girls' love for Strawberry Shortcake," said Carla Silva, VP of global licensing at AGP. "We had a lot of fun and enjoyed working with all of our great partners to create an event that would really excite our fans, and showcase all of the amazing product that's available."
