Sergio Tacchini renews IMG deal

The multi-year deal comes as the sportswear brand prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary later this year.

Sergio Tacchini has renewed its exclusive licensing agreement with IMG, who will continue to represent the Italian sportswear brand on an international basis.

The multi-year deal comes as Sergio Tacchini prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary later this year.

IMG originally started working with the brand in 2012, since when it has experienced significant growth, with licensing deals for the core product categories of apparel and footwear being signed for a host of new territories across Asia, Australasia, Europe, the Middle East and South America.

The renewal includes the existing territory of North America.

In addition, IMG have also signed agreements for other product categories including underwear, socks, watches, bedlinen and back to school.

“Sergio Tacchini’s worldwide popularity has grown significantly since we first started working with the brand and we are delighted to have the opportunity to continue building on this," said Marcelo Cordeiro, licensing director at IMG.

"In what is a special year for Sergio Tacchini, we are excited about developing the licensing programme to drive awareness of both its rich history and its forthcoming milestone.”

Patrizia Bolzoni, General Manager for Wintex Italia who manage the Sergio Tacchini brand, added: “We are very pleased to announce the renewal of our representation agreement with IMG. This year’s 50th anniversary celebrations present us with the ideal opportunity to increase our global presence and our recent growth in new territories such as Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan has given us a great platform to do so.”

Sergio Tacchini’s licensing activities will continue to be supported by an IMG team based in Milan, which will work closely with both Wintex Italia and IMG’s global licensing team.
