Simon & Schuster has brought forward the UK launch of its Octonauts book range, after the success of the TV show generated significant demand from consumers.
The firm had originally planned the publishing tie-in programme for an August 2011 launch. However, due to increasing demand from retail for TV tie-on books, the first two titles will now release on March 31st. These will be followed with four further titles in August.
The arrival of The Octonauts and the Decorator Crab and The Octonauts and the Whale Shark will be supported by in-store POS and a PR and marketing blitz. There will also be a nationwide competition to win family tickets to UK aquariums including Blue Planet, Blue Reef, Deep Sea World and Bristol Aquarium.
The future publishing programme includes further 8x8s, a sound book and a shaped board book.
