Lannoo Graphics has been awarded a licence by the Smiley Company to produce the Smiley University range and the Smiley Pins range. Each range will be based on the looks and design philosophy of the Smiley Collection fashion brand.

The stationery will include notebooks, exercise books, file folios, planners and ring binders. Also on offer will be a selection of pens, rulers, labels, pen sharpeners and rubbers.

The Smiley University range will have its own coat of arms, appearing on each product. The range will utilise a vintage look. This Smiley Pins range is a range of colourful bags and stationery illustrated with images of Smiley badges featuring the Smiley logo and upbeat messages.

Aimed at the tween, teen and young adult markets, the ranges will be available at retail for the September 2009 back-to-school period. Both ranges will be launched Europe-wide in department stores, independent stores and hypermarkets.

Part of the proceeds of all these products will go to charity through the Smiley World Association, which was formed in 2005 to help people in need.

Nicolas Loufrani, CEO of the Smiley Company, said: “Schoolkids and students deserve to go back to school and college with a smile. That’s why we came up with Smiley University and Smiley Pins bags and stationery.

"These products, designed by Lannoo Graphics, a company with a major reputation for quality and design excellence in this field, perfectly reflect the style, positive values and happy outlook of the Smiley Collection brand.”
