Smiley World partners with Carrefour

French hypermarket to use emoticon inspired brand in its back to school/work promotion.

The Smiley Company has joined forces with French retail chain Carrefour, in a deal which will see its emoticon inspired Smiley World brand in its 'Smile, it's back to school/work' in-store promotion.

Carrefour - which boasts over 230 hypermarkets throughout France - will use a host of Smiley World icons to mark out different sections in its stores and car parks as part of the promotion.

The icons will appear on direct mail and in-store catalogues, as well as on the Carrefour website. A major advertising campaign will also be running, including newspapers, billboards and radio.

Carrefour will also be offering customers a promotional cheque book including 100 Euros worth of offers. The cheques will be illustrated with Smiley icons.
