Already boasting a strong publishing presence in Europe, The Smiley Company's emoticon-inspired brand SmileyWorld has signed a two-year deal in the US and Canada with Simon & Schuster.
The firm will produce a five title range of children's books, beginning to roll out from August with Where's Smiley, a search and find book targeting six to eight year olds.
This will be followed with two picture board titles in November - My Moods and My Foods - and two more in spring 2011 - My Animals and Where's Smiley (lift the flap).
"Partnering with Simon & Schuster is a dream come true," said Nicolas Loufrani, CEO of The Smiley Company. "To have the greatest publisher in the most important country in the world is the best of luck for SmileyWorld's publishing programme, and a tribute to all the passion our studio has put into this project."
