Start Licensing is looking to lift the profile of Puzzler Media within the licensing business.

Start will be building a licensing programme to dovetail with Puzzler Media's publishing programme, as well as its existing digital publishing activities which include apps and games.

The firm will initially be looking at lines including calendars, gifting and personalised products.

"We are pleased to be working with Puzzler Media and hope that our experience of working with publishing companies and understanding a magazine's readership will help in this project," said Ian Downes, MD of Start Licensing. "Puzzler has tremendous loyalty and brand awareness - this should help us create a range of products that will appeal to readers, but also open up opportunities for gifting among family and friends."

Sam Bush, syndication director at Puzzler Media, added: "We're really excited to have Start represent us - Ian has a great reputation of working with iconic household names like Puzzler, and with his knowledge and expertise in the sector, we look forward to building a strong licence portfolio together."
