Bazooka Bubble Gum branding to appear on limited edition die-cast Ford Transit van.

Start Licensing has licensed a die-cast vehicle brand to use the Bazooka Bubble Gum branding on a limited edition die-cast Ford Transit van.

The van, produced in a 1/43rd scale, is a replica of a delivery van which was used to deliver Bazooka gum in the 1970s.

Vanguards, a Hornby Hobbies brand, was attracted to the Bazooka name because of its iconic status and its distinctive livery, including the Bazooka Joe image.

This activity comes hot on the heels of a licence signed with Knitmania to develop a line of t-shirts and other fashion items using the Bazooka Joe graphics.

The Bazooka Bubble Gum brand, which includes access to an archive of mini comic strips where were highly prized collector's items, is a perfect brand for Knitmania to use to target the young adult fashion market.

"Bazooka is a brand that has great graphics for the fashion market and has not been over exposed in licensing, making it an attractive new design for retailers," said Start MD Ian Downes.

Knitmania has developed a number of t-shirt designs which are currently being sold into retail. Start is now looking at developing a limited range of other products including accessories, publishing and stationery.
