Sweet success for Start as Honey Monster programme grows

C&S Collectables and Portico join licensing drive; new products due in Q4.

With the licence already enjoying success in the apparel and stationery sectors, Start Licensing has further grown the programme for the Honey Monster with an additional two partners.

C&S Collectables will be developing a range of ceramic figurines and moneyboxes based on the character, while Portico will create a range of greeting cards. This will include personalised cards for website Funky Pigeon.

The new products are due to launch in Q4.

The duo join existing licensees Smiffy's - which will roll out Honey Monster dress up costumes shortly - plus PMS (stationery) and Somerbond (t-shirts, underwear and nightwear). The Honey Monster tees are also featured on Truffle Shuffle through Famous Forever.

"The Honey Monster is a character held in huge affection by consumers and has a sense of humour which translates well to product," said Ian Downes, director of Start Licensing. "Licensees such as Somerbond have tapped into this well and have also recognised that the Honey Monster is a brand character that benefits from lots of exposure in the marketplace today, coupled with the pull of a character that has a rich heritage behind it."
