Picture-book writer and award winning publisher Alison Green has partnered with illustrator Jo Rose to create a brand new picture-book story for Deer Little Forest.
The 32 page book will be written by Green and illustrated by Deer Little Forest creator, Jo Rose.
Green's previous books include The Fox in the Dark, which has enjoyed international success, and has been translated into nine languages.
“I was delighted when Jo and Lisa asked me to work on a picture-book text for Deer Little Forest," said Green.
"Jo’s illustrations are so full of warmth, humour and rich, glowing colour, and she has created such an endearing cast of characters for me to weave into the story. The project is clearly attracting a lot of well-deserved interest, and it's really exciting to be involved with it.”
As the publisher of Alison Green Books, an imprint of Scholastic Children’s Books UK, Green has published more than 60 picture books and novelty books and she was previously publishing director of books for young children at Macmillan Children’s Books, where she was the commissioning editor of The Gruffalo.
Jo Rose added: "Like most mothers of a young child I am a huge fan of The Gruffalo and am thrilled to be working with an associate of this classic in any capacity. But it is Alison’s amazing writing – so beautifully shown in The Fox in the Dark - that will make Deer Little Forest truly come to life."
Elsewhere, the development for the Deer Little Forest TV series is also in full swing, with two scripts completed by Chris Parker (Peppa Pig, Bob the Builder, Ben & Holly, Timmy Time) and Sam Dransfield (Poppy Cat, Octonauts, Geronimo Stilton, Gaspar and Lisa).
