TLC Germany appointed for Dragon Ball

Toei Animation has appointed The Licensing Company Germany as the agency for Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT.

The firm will handle the series in Germany, Austria and German speaking Switzerland. The Licensing Company will hold all merchandising rights for the brand with the exception of toy, video game, publishing and Lamincards categories.

Kanji Kazahaya, director of international department of Toei said: “The Licensing Company ranks among one of the international market’s most prolific licensing organizations and brings to its representation of Dragon Ball an outstanding track record of licensing success and a deep commitment to our brands.”

“We are excited to be working with Toei Animation, one of the most respected names in animation production,” added Marlies Rasl, managing director of The Licensing Company Germany.

Now with 508 episodes, the Dragon Ball series follows Goku’s quest to become the strongest martial artist in the universe and his search for the seven magic Dragon Balls in a saga that encompasses three parts - Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT.

Dragon Ball adapts Japanese comics of the same title by Akira Toriyama.
