TLC steps out with Skechers

Agency to represent lifestyle footwear brand across Europe following new deal.

The Licensing Company is to expand the programme for Skechers across Europe - eyeing up new lifestyle categories for men, women and children.

The firm will seek out a wide variety of opportunities in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, as well as other European territories.

Key categories will include apparel, fashion accessories, hosiery, outerwear, sporting goods and luggage.

"Skechers is a powerful brand with an impressive business history, strong lifestyle appeal and loyal consumer following," said Melvin Thomas, group CEO at TLC. "We're excited to build a great brand extension initiative in Europe and create a programme that allows Skechers fans to enjoy the brand in many avenues, in addition to footwear."

Michael Greenberg, Skechers' president, added: "The innovative team at TLC has exceptional expertise [in Europe], and we're confident that the Skechers brand will reach an even higher level of success as we build upon our thriving shoe business in Europe."

Skechers already has a strong licensing programme in the US, with products including children's apparel, bags, eyewear, legwear, medical scrubs and leather accessories.
