The Icelandic character brand, Tulipop has secured its first children’s outdoor apparel partner in 66˚ North in what has been a ‘stellar start to the year’.

The company has also picked up a retail award for it flagship store in Reykjavik and a LIMA Award nomination for its blind box figurines from Toynami.

Launched at the Icelandic annual design festival Design March, the range is now on sale in 66˚ North stores where it has already seen strong sales as well as contributing to an ‘excellent month at the Tulipop store,’ exceeding all expectations.

The limited edition collection for young adventurers features a wide product line with items for newborns through to young adults. With the quirky and playful Tulipop characters prominent on the garments. Best sellers are its light sweaters, t-shirts and hoodies, plus caps.

66˚ North is a popular Icelandic brand founded in 1926 with the purpose of making protective clothing for Icelandic fishermen and workers braving the North Atlantic elements.

Meanwhile, the Tulipop flagship store recently won Freyjusomi, the award for best new addition to Reykjavik main shopping street in 2018. To further raise the store’s profile Tulipop has hired leading travel PR agency White Tiger PR to run a programme targeting tourists visiting Iceland from around the world.

Continuing the successful year to date, Toynami’s top-selling blind box collectable character figurine range has been nominated for a LIMA Award in the category Licensed Products: Toys/Games/Novelties/Role-Play. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on May 22 during Licensing Expo in Las Vegas.

Helga Arnadottir, Tulipop’s CEO, said: “Tulipop has really had a flying start to 2018. We are thrilled by the reaction to our flagship store and are a step closer to realising our dream of every tourist visiting Iceland going home with a piece of Tulipop merchandise.

“As big fans of 66˚ North we are delighted to be working with the team to create a stylish and colourful apparel line. Finally, we are overwhelmed by the news that our products have been recognised by the industry and nominated for a top LIMA award.”
