Tupac Shakur Estate readies pop-up café

Bravado and the Estate of Tupac Shakur will open the Powamekka Café from April 7th to April 8th in New York.

The Estate of Tupac Shakur has announced the launch of Tupac’s Powamekka Café, as well as a new line of limited edition apparel and merchandise.

In collaboration with Bravado, the Powamekka Café will come to life from April 7th to April 8th at New York’s Lower East Side, Sweet Chick on Ludlow Street.

Tupac first created the Powamekka Café over 20 years ago within thee pages of his notebook, which he described as a place to ‘play and parlay’.

“Tupac continues to impact music, art, fashion and culture around the world and Powamekka Café will offer his fans a new and personal way to reconnect with him through his passion for food and the restaurant he dreamed of opening,” said Mat Vlasic, CEO of Bravado.

“It’s our duty to create opportunities for our artists to fulfill their creative vision and give their fans new ways to engage with them and their music. We’re honoured to have the opportunity to work with Tom and the Estate to bring Powamekka Cafe to Tupac’s fans, family and friends.”

Friends, family and fans will get the chance to revisit the iconic rapper through a selection of personal photos, his poetry, music memorabilia and his favourite food dishes.

Details on the anticipated apparel and merchandise line are set to follow soon.
