The next film from Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment, the team behind the Despicable Me series, is going to focus on the world of pets, reported Deadline.
Untitled Pet Project will be released on February 12th, 2016 and is set to star the voice talent of comedians Louis CK and Kevin Hart, as well as Modern Family's Eric Stonestreet.
The action comedy is set in a Manhattan apartment building and takes a look at the lives of pets while owner are out at work.
Louis CK plays a terrier rescue dog whose position as 'top dog' is threatened when his owner brings home a mongrel called Duke, voiced by Stonestreet.
The two soon meet Snowball the bunny (Hart), but discover he is the leader of an army of pets that were abandoned. Snowball is determined to get revenge on humanity and every 'owner-loving' pet, leaving it up to the two dogs to save the day.
Despicable Me director Chris Renaud is behind the camera, while the script has been written by Despicable Me sceenwriters Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio.
