US: Jakks makes time for Aardman's Timmy

Firm becomes master toy in US and Canada for pre-school show and Shaun the Sheep.

Hit Entertainment has named Jakks Pacific as the master toy licensee for Aardman's Timmy Time and Shaun the Sheep properties in the US and Canada.

Jakks now has the rights to manufacture and market a full line of products for both properties including plush, electronic learning toys, figures and play-sets. It also has the option to produce stationery activity sets, craft sets and musical instruments.

"We are thrilled to partner with Jakks Pacific to introduce Timmy Time and Shaun the Sheep toys and games for the first time to the US and Canada," commented Gary Krakower, senior VP of US licensing and live events at Hit. "Jakks Pacific, like Aardman, has built a reputation on innovation and originality. Jakks' strength in toys, Aardman's strength in development and Hit's licensing expertise make this a winning combination."

Jennifer Richmond, senior VP of licensing and media at Jakks, added: "We will work to develop fun items based on these two dynamic properties for their key audiences that really embody the unique characters and properties for consumers at retail.

"Hit is responsible for managing the consumer products roll out of Timmy Time in North America, as well as managing the consumer products rights of Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Aardman Classics.
