US: Virgin Megastores opens up Beatles Boutiques

Retailer ties up with Signature Networks to offer collection of apparel, books, CDs and DVDs.

Virgin Megastores is becoming one of the first retailers to offer the largest collection of Beatles-themed products under one roof, with the launch of Beatles Boutiques in all of its US outlets.

The chain is stocking a range of Beatles apparel, accessories, books, CDs and DVDs in special designed mini-stores.

These 'shops within a shop' will include exclusive fashion items from companies such as Junkfood, Trunk and Signatures. The Boutiques will also house the largest collection of Beatles hats, bags, lunchboxes, glassware, posters, buttons, stationery, books, CDs and DVDs.

"As the premier entertainment lifestyle retailer, Virgin Megastores are the perfect home for a complete Beatles Boutique that will ogffer exclusive fashion items and Beatles-themed products, as well as a deep collection of music and DVDs," said Maureen Ferguson, divisional merchandise manager for Virgin Entertainment Group.

"Since The Beatles are one of the most recognised brands in the world, we are confident our customers will respond enthusiastically to the dynamic presentation of our Beatles Boutiques."

Steve Glasenk, VP of licensing at Signatures Network, added: "The Beatles remain the greatest pop culture icons of the 20th century and sales of their music and merchandise continue to flourish as they reach fans both old and new."
