V&A Licensing is continuing to build its programme of innovative merchandise.

The art and design museum has inked two new deals, the first with Japanese stationery company MARK'S.

The Tokyo-based company will launch its first range in Japan, Europe and the US from late spring 2013.

Meanwhile, retail brand Coast is working with V&A to launch an introductory range next spring.

The Ballgown line aims to encapsulate the romantic and dramatic qualities of the V&A's renowned collection. Fabric and techniques used to create the range have been inspired by an archive of materials such as silk, lace, tulle and brocade, pleated, draped and cut on the bias then embellished with intricate beading and crystals.
