Viz is celebrating its 30th birthday this month - and to celebrate Dennis Publishing is launching two further books.

A revised pocket version of Roger's Profanisaurus, The Magna Fartlet is a 480-page paperback of political incorrectness. According to the firm, with some 10,000 definitions, readers could learn a new word every day for 27 years.

Meanwhile, October 15th will see the arrival of The Council Gritter (£10.99, hardback), the latest annual in the Viz series. The 160-page title includes the best bits from issues 162 to 171 of the cult adult comic.

To mark the 30th anniversary, Viz and Dennis have planned a number of events. On October 26th, the commemorative 30th birthday edition will hit shelves, followed by the 30th anniversary itself on October 27th.

On November 3rd, a 30 Years of Viz exhibition will open at the Cartoon Museum, London and run through until January 2010.
