Yo-Kai Watch to make European debut this spring

The company behind Europe’s influx of Japanese entertainment, Viz Media is taking its hits anime franchise Yo-Kai Watch global.

In spring this year, the first season of the animated series will launch in more than 100 territories across Europe and Africa, including in the UK.

The launch of Yo-Kai Watch will be supported by a range of toys frm Hasbro, videogames from Nintendo, manga publishing and a ‘massive’ licensing programme under the guidance of Bulldog.

Created by the Japanese video game company Level-5, Yo-Kai Watch has stormed to success in its home territory having sold over 10 million units of its Nintendo 3DS video game in Japan alone.

Its licensed programme featuring manga and related books, toys and merchandise has already generated over two billion Euros in retail sales in Japan.

The animated TV series Yo-Kai Watch was successfully launched in the USA last year, along with video games, toys and merchandising.

‘After its successful run in Japan and in the USA, the animated TV series Yo-Kai Watch will be available on popular kids’ channels, to be revealed soon,’ read a statement from Viz Media.
