Lily’s Driftwood Bay goes global with new broadcast deals

Henson Independent Properties has signed a raft of new broadcast and digital license deals for the hit pre-school series, Lily’s Driftwood Bay.

Most notably, HIP – a third party licensing label of The Jim Henson Company – has licensed the kids’ series to Netflix in the US, Canada, UK and Ireland.

Additional sales include KiKa in Germany, MTV Oy in Finland, TV New Zealand, TVB in Hong Kong and Radio Television Brunei.

Lily’s Driftwood Bay made its global premiere in May last year on Nick Jr. and has since seen global success resulting in winning the Parents’ Choice Recommended Award as well as being selected by Common Sense Media as one of the Best Kids’ TV Shows of 2014.

“We have had a very positive initial response to this unique and charming new animated series, and to have attracted such strong partners is a testament to the quality of the programming,” said Richard Goldsmith, EVP, global distribution and international consumer products, The Jim Henson Company.

“There will be exciting updates for potential new partners at the Kidscreen Summit about the continued growth and development of this brand.”

Aimed at kids aged four to six, Lily’s Driftwood Bay follows the adventures of five year old Lily who lives in a beach hut with her Dad on an island.

The series features the voice talents of an all-star cast, including Stephen Fry, Peter Mullan and Richard Dormer.
