Lionsgate to launch Now You See Me mobile games

Lionsgate is developing two mobile games based on its Now You See Me film franchise.

The studio is teaming with Side-Kick VR to develop a Now You See Me virtual reality game, while a partnership with mobile developer Kiwi will result in a more story-driven game.

The mobile VR game from Side-Kick is a hidden-object game in which users will be uncovering clues and discovering the world of magic and illusions featured in the films while the narrative-driven game by Kiwi will see players make choices and interact with characters from the franchise.

"Our mission is to partner with best-in-class game developers early in the filming process to create platform-defining content that provides fans with multiple touch points to engage with our most popular brands," said Lionsgate president of interactive ventures and games, Peter Levin.

"We’re excited to be working with the top-notch creative teams at Side-Kick and Kiwi on these two games and to be able to launch them while Now You See Me 2 is in the filmgoer zeitgeist. Our ability to create separate games on two different platforms is testament to the property’s massive appeal."

The original Now You See Me grossed more than $350 million at the worldwide box office and Now You See Me 2 lands in cinemas on June 10th. Both mobile games will launch this summer.
