Last month's MCM Expo was the 'most successful MCM ever', say the organisers.

Over 70,000 visitors came through the doors of London's Excel centre, compared to the 64,000 attendees during the May consumer event.

Special guests included Matt Smith from BBC's Doctor Who (pictured), Bill Paxton and stars from TV shows including Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Misfits, Hunted, Primeval, New World, Haven, Eureka, Warehouse 13 and Continuum.

The MCM Expo - also styled as the MCM London Comic Con - also promoted movie, manga and video game brands. The show also made national news last weekend after being reported on by several TV stations.

"We are amazed by the turnout; we expanded the show floor space by 5,000 square metres from the May event and we were still packed," said show co-organiser Bryan Cooney.

"It is wonderful to have so many attendees and companies like BBC, C4, Universal, Nintendo and Microsoft supporting our show.

"We are now looking to add a further 4,000 square metres for May [2013], bringing us to 21,000 square metres. We are also looking to the future and planning alongside our venue partner to make MCM London Comic Con the biggest show of its kind in Europe."

MCM attracted several big-name brands.
