American Greetings is gearing up to present a wide range of its properties at Mipcom in October.
The popular Strawberry Shortcake franchise has a brand new look and storyline produced in CGI animation. A new movie - The Strawberry Shortcake Movie Sky's the Limit - will be available from September, followed by a CGI TV series in spring 2010.
AGP will be announcing a number of deals for the property at Mipcom, in key territories including France, UK, Canada, Latin America and the US.
In terms of licensing, a new line of fruit scented toys from Hasbro launched this summer.
Meanwhile, the Care Bears property has also been given a CGI makeover, along with new 'Care Power Team' storylines. With over 300 licensees worldwide across all categories and key retailers, more than $2 billion in retail sales since 2002 and Care Bears Baby and Care Bears Junior brand extensions, the property is certainly one of the most recognisable in the world.
Global master toy partner Hasbro is planning to launch new cuddly toys internationally in 2010.
Maryoku Yummy will also be showcased. Earlier this year, AG teamed up with US apparel retailer Tween Brands to launch a consumer products programme. Merchandise includes collectible mini and large plush, character journals, lip gloss, nail polish, buttons and lollipops.
Twisted Whiskers - which has been extended into entertainment from the firm's popular line of greetings cards - will also be on display, along with Holly Hobbie & Friends.
