The licensing community was out in force last night at the annual Light Fund Quiz - with Bionic eventually claiming the top prize in a closely fought battle with CPLG and Coolabi.
The Bionic Men beat off competition from 34 other teams, finishing with 115 points. Mr Sanchez (CPLG) and Cool Defenders (Coolabi) finished joint second with 114 points.
Teams from Harper Collins (111 points) and The Knowledge (108) completed the top five.
At the other end of the table, Chapman Entertainment's University Challenged team finished last (75 points), claiming the prize of a pair of big pants.
"Once again members of the licensing industry excelled themselves," said David Scott, MD of Rainbow Productions and treasurer of the Light Fund. "A really close finish shows just how seriously some companies are taking this challenge and the carefully crafted winner's trophy is proving a must-have for boardrooms across the land.
"Equally, and somewhat worringly, the booby-prize big pants also held their own attraction for a significant number of teams.
"The final receipts have yet to be totalled up but, including the raffle and t-shirt sales, we estimate we'll have raised in excess of £10,000 in one evening - so thank you to everyone for taking part.
"This has been a record year for the Light Fund and the first year ever we have raised over £100,000 - all of which will be donated in the next few weeks to fulfil key projects for deserving charities. All members of the licensing industry should be congratulated for showing such amazing generosity."
And, in case you're wondering, the Licensing.biz team - Licensing.quiz - finished in a respectable mid table position.
