AG Properties has agreed several new licensing deals for Care Bears bedding and apparel spanning Europe, Latin America and Asia.
In Europe, AGP has extended a partnership with UK apparel firm Somerbond which will result in new Care Bears women’s and girls’ t-shirts, sweatshirts and leggings.
These products will join Somerbond's existing range of Care Bears women’s and girls’ underwear and nightwear which are on the shelves at Topshop, Bank, George, Penny’s and Primark.
A direct-to-retail program with St. Jacks in Latin America will see Care Bears apparel stocked in over 50 St. Jacks stores.
AGP has also renewed a contract with Textil Belmar in Brazil for an expanded line of Care Bears baby bedding in a deal brokered by AGP's licensing agents in South America, Exim Brazil and Exim Panama.
Elsewhere, in Asia, Wing Yip will launch a Care Bears bedding line in Hong Kong before expanding into China and Macau while Mego Int'l will expand its apparel line to now reach China, Hong Kong and Macau, as well as Taiwan.
Both deals were negotiated by Medialink, AGP’s agent in Asia.
“These deals further help solidify the strong presence that Care Bears has around the world,” said Carla Silva, senior vice president of global licensing at AG Properties.
"The demand for Care Bears merchandise in the UK, Latin America and Asia is testament to the universal appeal of these beloved characters.”
