Entertainment One Licensing has secured an agreement for a Peppa Pig area to join Milan’s Leolandia theme park.
The four-year deal will see a themed Peppa Pig area created with 2015 attractions including a water play area, playground area and a fully interactive tour of the family’s two-storey home as well as a themed area for photographs.
Five more Peppa Pig attractions will be added throughout 2016 and 2017.
The agreement, facilitated by Peppa agents ETS Italy and Spanish based El Ocho, follows a successful series of meet and greet appearances at Leolandia throughout 2014 where Peppa met more 300,000 fans.
“We are very excited by the huge response to Peppa in Italy, which is proving to be one of our strongest European territories - despite Peppa being relatively new to the market there with a 2013 launch," said Andrew Carley, head of global licensing for eOne.
"Leolandia is one of the premier theme parks in Italy and we are extremely proud to be opening up Peppa’s house and giving Italian fans a chance to join her in some muddy puddles, engage in fun activities and meet Peppa and George.”
Massimiliano Freddi, managing director for Leolandia, added: “We are honoured Peppa and her family chose our park for their Italian home.
"Leolandia is No.1 guest-rated Italian theme park with 38 attractions and over 1,000 hours per year of entertainment and shows, dedicated entirely to families with young children. Welcoming Peppa and her family will make the magic cartoon world become three-dimensional for each and every child, as a proof to parents that the happy world of Peppa really exists."
