Brand Licensing Europe's annual License This competition is now open for entries.
Now in its fifth year, License This offers new creative concepts the chance to break into the global licensing industry. It is open to any new property with its roots in publishing, art and design, TV or digital media.
Entries are reviewed by a panel of experts, which shortlist four properties. These finalists pitch to the panel in front of a live audience at BLE on October 9th. The winner receives a fully furnished stand at next year's event, worth £4,500, enabling the property to be brought back to market in 2015.
The competition has provided a springboard for a number of past winners. 2011 winner How to ... for the inept has since signed a publishing agent contract and a deal to provide gifting sets; Turizmo, a finalist in the same year, has signed licences for apparel, wall coverings, game apps and stationery; 2012 finalist Lillipippins has secured deals in the UK, US, Russia/CIS, Germany and Australia; and last year's finalist Railway of Life sealed a deal with The Coaster Company within weeks of the show.
2013's winner was Mr Trafalgar - a whimsical rodent drawn in distinctive black and white silhouette.
Property owner Bella Binus, along with artist and creator Jamie Patterson, said: "Participating in the License This challenge last year and winning it was such a great experience for us. We are excited to go back to BLE this year and meet retailers and licensees face to face with the Mr Trafalgar brand.
"In the past months we have been working on character development and building a story around the characters in our portfolio. We also expect the first batch of products, featuring the Mr Trafalgar collection on a range of phone cases and homeware accessories, to come out soon."

Brand Licensing Europe takes place at London Olympia from October 7th to 9th.
